In college from 2024-25 I was sports editor for The Red & Black, the free student-led news organization covering the University of Georgia and Athens, GA communities. Before that, I was a beat reporter for the R&B covering the university’s golf, women’s basketball and football teams among others. I was lucky enough to cover some big-time games, work alongside talented people and grow my skills as a journalist across various mediums and subjects beyond just sports. In my senior year of college I got the incredible opportunity to cover the 2025 NCAA Women’s Final Four in Tampa, FL for USA Today. I was given the chance to pitch unconventional stories, and learned how to optimize an article’s visibility in the digital age for a major outlet. It was special to cover some of the most talented young players in the world, and be a part of this event at a time when the game of women’s basketball was growing so much.
